Welcome to Crystal Pool, Dhamasio!

Crystal Pool is a structured knowledge-base dedicated for Erin Hunter's Warriors series that you can edit. Similar to Wikidata, it can be read and edited by humans and machines alike and you can go to any item page now and add to this ever-growing database!

Need some help getting started? Here are some pages you can familiarize yourself with:

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date.

If you have any questions, please ask me on my talk page. If you want to try out editing, you can use the sandbox to try. Once again, welcome, and I hope you quickly feel comfortable here, and become an active editor for Crystal Pool.

Hello and welcome

Hi Dhamasio,

Welcome to Crystal Pool! It has taken me a while to explore a better way to upgrade a MediaWiki site, so here is a late welcome.

It seems you have been updating the entity inforamtion for the books. Since there are a lot of entities to update, if you have such experience (e.g. on pywikibot), I encourage you to achieve this with bot-aided autoamtic editing if necessary. If you are doing so, don't forget to apply a separate account for your bot!

Please also note that though I have a long-term plan for collecting books and editions, for now I personally do not have a plan in the near future for displaying organized edition information outside this website (I mean, in the same fashion as Warriors Family Tree), mainly due to the limited energy I have.

Due to the inherent limitation of Wikibase, this site also has chapter entities (e.g. Into the Wild, Chapter 1 (Q741)). I do not recommend putting your energy into updating their labels. Rather, tell me how to organize the labels given the book name and chapter number, and I will use a bot to do this. Don't waste your time and energy pretending to be a bot ;-)

Since this site is technically a database, you can pull out RDF and JSON data from this site. RDF data is on github:Dump. If you also need JSON data, please tell me on my talk page or via Discord. As I don't have much free time during workdays, please expect slow response during that time.

Finally, I'm still exploring the possibilities and expectations when growing this site (slowly). If you are not sure about something, please do feel free to ask me about it.

Thanks,

Death manner

I think it's better to use manner of death (P97) as qualifier of death time on timeline (P96), in case there are multiple deaths / life-losing situation.

However, since there are many cats without death time on timeline (P96) specified, it's okay just leaving manner of death (P97) as a top-level claim, for now. I've written a bot to move manner of death (P97) claims as qualifiers of death time on timeline (P96), and I can run the bot when there are enough death time on timeline (P96) statements.

However, please refrain from copying manner of death (P97) as qualifiers into manner of death (P97) as top-level claims, like change you've done to Bluestar , because the information has already stated as qualifiers of death time on timeline (P96): A Dangerous Path, Chapter 27 (Q888).

Issues with Wikibase

Recent Wikibase upgrade is introducing some issues, such as, you cannot see the labels for some of the properties… I will try to resolve this but it may take some days.

Just drop by and want you know if there are further issue blocking you (and potentially others) making contributions, feel free to leave me a message ;-)

Wikidata entites

I think you can use killed by (P109): fox (Q4264) to denote "killed by a fox". Techincally, to be utmost accurate we should use killed by (P109): [an entity that is an instance of fox (Q4264)], but this is too involving.

I've imported Foodborne illness (Q4329), burn (Q4330), myocardial infarction (Q4331), tumor (Q4332) and cancer (Q4334). I will choose the entity for the rest of the death causes later.
